Cuba expresses solidarity with the people of Palestine

Cuba expressed its solidarity with the Palestinian people at the headquarters of the Institute for Friendship with the People (ICAP) regarding Israel's attacks on Palestine and Gaza. Fernando González Lloret, the president of ICAP, announced the support of Cuba and a large part of the international community who want an end to the October 7 attacks.

He emphasized the brutality of the attack that took place on October 17 against Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, where patients, health workers and internally displaced people had taken refuge. He also called for an end to the conflict and illegal occupation of the Palestinian land that has been going on for more than seven decades.

Akram Samhan, the Palestinian ambassador in Cuba, also thanked the Cuban people for their support and invited them to continue fighting despite the difficult conditions. Fausto Ampodia Cantillo, a member of the National Secretariat of the Federation of University Students (FEU), on behalf of this organization, announced his support for young Palestinian students in Cuban universities. Since October 7, when the Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise attack against Israel, and until today, the conflict between the two countries has claimed the lives of thousands of civilians in the Gaza Strip. This conflict started in 1948 with the beginning of Israel's occupation.
