During this meeting, solutions to increase economic exchanges were discussed, as well as obstacles and problems facing the export and import of goods. Both parties expressed interest in establishing direct communication between private and public sector traders from both countries to gain familiarity with the possibilities for conducting bilateral trade. The GECOMEX business conglomerate, with its various subsidiaries, is one of Cuba's largest intermediary groups for import and export activities. It operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX) in the area of management and supervision of the export and import of goods. In other words, the majority of the country's imports and exports of food products and consumer goods enter the Cuban domestic market through this holding company. For his part, our country's ambassador provided information to the Cuban side on the Islamic Republic of Iran's production and export capabilities in the food and consumer goods sector.
